Tax Refund to Visitors

The Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) welcomes you on its dedicated website for Tax free shopping in Mauritius.

Tourists visiting Mauritius can buy Duty Free goods in shops outside of the airport and authorised by Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) for delivery at the MCCI Tax refund Counter on their departure date (Tax Free shopping).  Under the Deferred Duty and Tax Scheme (DDTS), these shops can also offer visitors to take possession of the goods at the time of purchase (Tax Paid shopping) with refund of duty and VAT paid at the MCCI Tax refund Counter on their departure date. 

There are also many shops authorised by MRA offering VAT refund at the MCCI Tax refund Counter at the airport (Tax Paid shopping) on the visitor’s departure date under the VAT Paid Supplies (VPS) scheme.

Warning:
Not all shops offer Tax Paid or Tax Free shopping. DDTS and VPS shops display the "TAX REFUND by the MCCI" sign. To view the list of these shops, click here.
