MCCI Tax Refund Counter

MCCI operates a Tax Refund counter at the SSR International Airport for refund of Duty and/or Value Added Tax (VAT) paid on purchases made by visitors having a foreign passport. The refund can be made in the following currencies: Euro (EUR), US dollar (USD), South African Rand (ZAR) and British Pounds (GBP). However, only purchases from shops authorised by the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA), under the Deferred Duty and Tax Scheme (DDTS) or the VAT Paid Supplies (VPS) Scheme, are entitled for the refund. The MCCI Tax Refund counter also offers a service whereby hand-carried goods can be delivered Duty Free or VAT Free on the departure date of the tourist from Mauritius.
