To be able to offer duty free or VAT refund sales to tourists, a shop has to obtain prior authorisation from the Mauritius Revenue Authority(MRA). For VAT Refund, the contact details are :

To apply for the Deferred Duty and Tax Scheme or the Duty Free Scheme you can download the application form from the MRA website. The contact details are:

Once the shop has got the proper authorisation, it needs to be registered with Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry such that their customers can either take deliveries for VAT/Duty free sales or get a cash refund for VAT/Duty paid sales .
