Tourist Corner How to get the refund? The tourist has the choice to pay VAT and Duty in a Downtown Duty Free shop and get a refund at the MCCI refund counter at the airport. To that end he has to inform the Duty-Free operator of his nationality, foreign passport number, date of departure and flight number that will be input on the sales receipt. The same applies for VAT Paid purchases in a VAT Paid supplies MRA authorised shop. How to purchase Duty Free or VAT free? The tourist pays his goods Tax Free and is delivered at the MCCI refund counter at the Airport for goods to be carried as hand luggage. For oversized articles, the goods are delivered in the check-in area with prior arrangement with the shop operator and MCCI. The tourist has to give his nationality, foreign passport number, date of departure and flight number that will be input on the sales receipt.
